OpenCNC Plus

MDSI's feature product, OpenCNC® software, is a production-proven, unbundled, software CNC control built on an open architecture. Open architecture enables manufacturers to integrate off—the—shelf hardware and software technologies to achieve flexible and agile world—class manufacturing. Unlike proprietary CNC controls, OpenCNC requires no proprietary hardware or motion control cards. Combining a soft CNC and soft PLC in a single application, OpenCNC is well suited for new equipment as well as machine control replacements.

OpenCNC Pro

  • Do-it-yourself upgradeability.
  • Linkage with Factory Information Systems.

For More Information

"We can acquire machines—at a modest price—that nobody else wants to touch, then modify and retrofit with MDSI to end up with a piece of equipment that will provide added capacity for a quarter of the new cost." — Ron Patlian, Utica Corporation

"We were looking to reduce hardware dependence and maintenance costs. It became apparent that OpenCNC® from MDSI was the only way to go." — Tom Nelson, Addison Glass

"The bids that came in were considerably more expensive and the machines wouldn’t have been as universal for use with our wide range of parts. With OpenCNC, on the other hand, we have machines which are tailored exactly to our needs." — Dirk Stemmermann, Stemmermann GmbH
